Our relationships with farmers: dialogue and cooperation since 2005

It is very important for us to have loyal farmers, who work with passion and are conscious of and enthusiastic about being part of a team and, above all, of being leading figures in a huge project.
To build this relationship of mutual trust, we became the first in the sector to introduce supply chain credit. With our bank’s cooperation, our farmers can be paid for their milk immediately, compared to the delay of 12 months—with highs of 24 months in some cases—that is the average in the sector.

SUPPLY CHAIN CREDIT

This strategy has given them the ability to plan investments to modernise their premises and thus guarantee us milk of high quality, which is essential for the production of fine Parmigiano Reggiano.

OUR SYSTEM REWARDS THE QUALITY

We designed a system that rewards milk that exceeds the quality parameters set by the competent Consortium. Today, the results of this collaboration with our suppliers can be seen in improved outputs and a reduction in cheese defects.

WE’RE ALWAYS CLOSE TO THE FARMERS

We also offer our dairy farmers the benefit of our expert consulting services as regards finance and legal issues, helping them to grow as businesspeople. We also guarantee them constant help from Quality Assurance specialists and from food technologists, who can help them to manage their cowsheds in compliance with current standards and focus more on animal welfare.
As a matter of fact, all of our dairy farmers have earned Animal Welfare Certification under the ClassyFarm system.
