Azienda Agricola Dallas was established in 1970 when Silvana and her husband left the city to devote themselves to raising cattle. Today it is run by their son Marco, together with his wife Milena and granddaughters Sara and Chiara, who represent, with passion and cheerfulness, the future generation of female farm entrepreneurs.
The farm has 120 mainly Friesian cows, 60 of which are lactating, and about 70 hectares of land cultivated with fodder.
“It is a job of sacrifice, but like so many others: a lot of commitment is needed but when there’s satisfaction, the fatigue is not even felt anymore.”
“Our secret,” Marco tells us, “is the family dimension, the will to carry out this project all together. Collaboration is also very important, both within the company and with the other components of the supply chain, feed companies, suppliers, dairies: we are one team working together!”
“Animal welfare is at the heart of the company’s philosophy,” Sara adds, “and of the investments in equipment, from fans to brushes to the division of animals into small groups”.
“If you raise an animal well, the fruits of your work will be good: if you take care of an animal since it was born, when the time comes for that animal to produce, the results will be good.”
