GOLD MEDAL AT THE CONCOURS INTERNATIONAL DE LYON FOR PARMIGIANO REGGIANO FROM CIGARELLO DAIRY
Gold medal at the Concours International de Lyon – for 30 month Parmigiano Reggiano from our Cigarello dairy. This specialty got the first prize (with 91 points out of 100) at the international competition in Lyon, which saw almost 8,000 products from 41 countries around the world competing!
Lyon is recognised as the capital of gastronomy and good taste, and so it was only natural that the city should be a showcase for the best products in the world. The Concours International de Lyon has a reputation in keeping with its prestigious partners: Les Toques Blanches Lyonnaises, the Association des Sommeliers de Rhône Alpes and Metro. The enthusiasm for this competition is widespread. International tasters from all sectors (oenologists, sommeliers, restaurateurs, producers, shop owners, as well as knowledgeable consumers) have made this competition an important event on their agenda. The position of honorary president alternates between a well-known sommelier and a chef from Lyon.
